There is an enormous number and varried spectrum of restaurants in Bloomington. You can get a down-home meal with freshly baked pie out in the country, great burritos the size of your head, sushi, Turkish, Indian, New Orleans, Tai, two (count 'em two) Tibetan restaurants, a great steak, gourmet pizza and restaurants dedicated to locally produced ingredients.

An ad for a restaurant in another part of the state, in order to emphasize the quality of their food, once headlined: "You'll think you died and went to Bloomington."

There's a wide swath of restaurants from IU on the east through a couple blocks past the downtown square.
